I have seen so many George-mourns-Fred fics that I winced when I saw what you had chosen here, because I have come to avoid them as maudlin, weepy, feminized pieces of wangstcrap.
This couldn't be more different.
The pain is there, oh yes, but it's carved into the spaces between the words, razor-sharp slivers of everything you don't say and don't need to, and you capture it so perfectly that I ached for him. The friendship between the twins and Lee is so rich, and yet that too isn't overdone. It reminds me of Pinter, really, how you can paint a scene, an emotion so economically and still get every detail.
You are a stunning writer, and I selfishly wish I could bribe you to keep writing in my world forever for all the amazing depth you have brought with just these two tiny pieces.
