They know they should stop. They tell themselves it’s just a kiss, just a fuck and after, when they are sweaty and panting and naked in every possible way they stop lying to themselves and know they wont.

In the morning, the light of day brings it all to shadows. The want stays, the desperate need to touch, to possess, but there’s a kingdom to run, wars to fight, Albion to unite and king and sorcerer shove their desire back until the night comes again.

And then it’s desperate. Bruised lips, hair pulled back, back scratched because they have been longing for this. They need the night, the feel of each other and for all else to fall away. For as they lay together there is no king and sorcerer, not even prince and servant, just whispered pleas and moaned names.

But they should stop.

Because the days are longer to bear and they find themselves brushing against each other, biting their own lips instead of risking a kiss and the need of the other becomes so deep that the king is wounded in battle and the sorcerer forgets a spell. There are new wounds, new scars... warnings.

It’ll happen one day. They’ll stop letting the light pull them apart and it’ll be a long night. It’ll consume them and they’ll be happy to drown. It’ll be the end and as king, as his sorcerer, they can’t allow that.

They should stop.
