"It has something to do with their magic," Luna explained, patiently. "It gives them a warm aura, bright orange."

Ginny winced as Luna healed one of her worst bruises. "That can't be it. They are just daft," she replied in a huff. "Daft and self-sacrificing twerps with a hero complex."

"I believe that's just Gryffindor boys. They have even warmer auras."

Ginny flexed her wrist experimentally and when she was sure she could move it she grabbed her wand and started healing Luna's face cuts. "They don't think," Ginny ranted as she worked. "Like Seamus, picking a fist fight with Crabb while Alecto was standing by. And Ravenclaws are no better, Michael's still limping for giving lip to Amycus the other day."

"Quite pointless," Luna agreed. "I've told Michael that Amycus doesn't know what nincompoop means."

"Oh and Neville!" Ginny continued, ignoring Luna's words. "Don't get me started on Neville. I thought he was the sensible one but there he goes, risking himself to go vandalize the dungeons when I've told him, Merlin knows how many times, that we can't risk him getting caught. And then, to top it off, he refuses to follow the Carrows' orders."

"I'm right here, you know?" said Neville, rubbing the back of his head. "And may I remind you that you both refused to curse me as well."

"That's completely different." Ginny glanced up from her work cleaning bloodstains off her sweater. "Right, Luna?"

Luna nodded while scratching a still bleeding cut on her knee. "Women's auras are more like a pale violet."

"Well, you still got punished for not cruciating me," Neville muttered.

"Boys!" Ginny huffed, glaring at Neville.

Luna gave him a long curious look, "Daft, you say?" After a moment she nodded to herself, looking satisfied. "…It must be the orange."

Fat

Fandom: Harry Potter.
Characters: Gen. Fat Lady.
149 words.

She did have a name but she hadn't thought about it for ages. She had grown used to what the students called her and though it had hurt her feelings the first few years 'fat' was no longer an insult. No, she didn't mind about that, what she did mind about was rudeness; students slamming her, ignoring her, it was no way to behave. Few treated her with the respect she deserved.

That was why when she recognized the man demanding access to the tower she wanted to let him in. He'd always been a charming boy, mischievous but charming; he always had a smile for her. But he didn't have the password and above her fondness for the boy, man now, was her duty. When she ran from her portrait crying it was as much in fear as in sorrow. Sirius Black had never called her fat before.
